Abstract

Recently, the author developed novel biomaterial using autogenous teeth(AutoBT). This study was aimed to provide the basis for its clinical application and evaluated short-term outcome of clinical application. A retrospective analysis of dental chart and radiography of 47 patients(male 30, female 17), who guided bone regeneration(GBR), sinus bone graft and ridge augmentation were imultane using auto BT during the period from October 2008 to September 2009 was carried out. The average age was 49.08yr. The postoperative complications occurred on 11 cases including hematoma, wound dehiscence and 2 cases of implant osseointegration failure. All complications were treated with conservative method and re-implant successfully. Auto BT grafting area revealed that the grafting material was gradually resorbed and replaced with new bone. Within limitation of our study, it is suggested that auto BT might be used as novel bone graft material for bone defect area and could bring out successful result on clinical application.
